Individual, couple, and family therapy. Psychotherapy. Mental Health. Therapy. Counseling. Therapist. Counselor. Nashville, TN

Jeannie H. Milan, LMFT

I am a caring and empathetic person who has a heart for helping people reach their full potential. As a therapist, I seek to work collaboratively with clients in establishing treatment goals. My hope is that clients will learn new and healthier ways of living and gain a greater ability to treat both themselves and others with compassion.

It takes courage to step into the therapy room, so I work to provide a disarming and open space for clients to share. My curiosity guides me as I get to know people for who they are and I enjoy helping clients learn to think, feel, and act in new, productive ways in order for them to become the people they hope to be.

Education

M.MFT, Lipscomb University

Therapist Experience

I have worked with a diverse clientele in a variety of settings. In addition to my work in private practice, I have worked with incarcerated individuals and people recently released from prison, as well as with people coming from low-income households. I welcome the opportunity to work with everyone, especially those who are coming in with the desire and motivation to change.

Therapy Interests

My areas of special clinical interest include: depression, anxiety, mood disorders, self-esteem, couple therapy, conflict management, and relationship issues. My practice is evidence-based and influenced by various theoretical orientations including cognitive-behavioral therapy, internal family systems, and mindful self-compassion.

Supervision

My AAMFT Approved Supervisor designation, allows me to provide supervision services to pre-licensed professionals seeking independent licensure in the state of Tennessee.
