Therapy Fees
Standard Therapy Fees
Usually, the standard fee per 50-55 minute session is $150+ when working with a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist or Pre-Licensed Clinical Fellow. Some Institute clinicians may have a higher standard fee than $150+ depending on their additional training, experience, and caseload characteristics.
Dr. Briggs has a standard fee of $250+ per session and a sliding scale from $120-$250+ depending on client income and his caseload characteristics. If you have questions about working with Dr. Briggs, please email drbriggs@thebriggsinstitute.com or call 615-593-3999.
Sliding Fee Scale
Clients may request to use our sliding fee scale that runs from $60-$250+ per clinical hour. Although we can often accommodate a client’s request to use the sliding fee scale, the decision to lower the standard fee rests with Institute therapists and depends on several factors including client annual income, therapist caseload characteristics, and clinical schedules. Because several factors (not just annual income) come into play when lowering the standard fee, the actual fee paid by a client may be higher or lower than what is shown on the sliding fee scale published here.
Insurance Invoices
Although we do not accept insurance directly, we are able to provide clients with invoices they may submit to their insurance company to seek reimbursement. Some clients are successful in obtaining reimbursement, while others are not. Many clients find that our sliding scale results in rates comparable to their insurance copayment.
