Réka Madari, AMFT
Every behavior, reaction, and pattern has a story behind it. Therapy gives us a space to become curious about those stories and decide what still serves us and what we are ready to change.
As a therapist, I value authenticity, curiosity, and connection. I am not afraid of difficult or uncomfortable conversations, but I also believe therapy does not always have to feel heavy. There can be room for humor, creativity, and playfulness, even while doing meaningful and sometimes challenging work.

Therapist Experience
I have worked with individuals, couples, and families experiencing a wide range of concerns, including trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, family-of-origin concerns, and major life transitions.
I am trained as a PREPARE/ENRICH Certified Facilitator, a Gottman Method Couples Therapy Level 1 therapist, and a Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) Web 2.0 clinician. I have also completed EMDR training and incorporate trauma-informed approaches into my work.
Therapy Interests
I have a particular interest in working with trauma and PTSD, relationship and family conflict, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and individuals who feel stuck in patterns they understand intellectually but have difficulty changing emotionally.
I enjoy working with couples at different stages of their relationships—from preparing for marriage to navigating communication difficulties, conflict, disconnection, and other challenges that can develop over time.
My work draws from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Bowen Family Systems Theory, EMDR, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Play Therapy. While play therapy is often associated with children, I enjoy bringing creative and play-based interventions into my work with adults as well when they agree it is a good fit. I believe we all carry an inner child who has experiences, emotions, and stories that may be difficult to communicate with words alone. Creativity and play can offer that part of us another way to be heard, understood, and cared for.
